Studio Policies &Agreements
1. REGISTRATION should take approximately one hour of your time. The studio policy will be thoroughly explained to you. We will also discuss our annual Dance Recital schedule, and dance class attire. A Liability Waiver and an Agreement to the studio policies will also be signed. A cash payment will be required for the Set Up Fees with the first month‘s tuition. Bringing a young child (ren) to this meeting will only be distracting, please try to make other arrangements if possible.
2. SET-UP FEES:
a. Annual Liability/Registration Fee, due again every August = $ 10.00
b. A Security Deposit (pre-payment) will enable the student to take two future classes in the month being dropped provided the tuition and written drop notice has been delivered on time, i.e. one month prior to the last paid month = $25.00
*please note: all monies, including Security Deposit is non-transferable.* One may opt to forfeit the two future classes but will NOT receive Security Deposit back(per item #8), and it is not responsibility or liability of Studio to transfer funds between student accounts.*
c. First Month’s Tuition(s) is required in a cash payment the very first time.
Grand total for set up fees (for 1 hour classes) $10.00 liability + $25.00 deposit
+ $50 first months tuition = $85.00
3. MONTHLY TUITION must be received on the student’s last class of the month, prior to the new month coming, or no later than the last day of the student’s current month.
4. PRIVATE LESSON payments for the monthly lessons will be required right after the first lesson taken. At this time, a schedule will be established between our instructor, adult student or the student’s parent. A 24 hour verbal notification to cancel a lesson, is required. If late, the student will lose the awarded credit.
5. LATE FEES: The "Monthly Fee" will always be due before or on the last dance class of the month. If received in a brand new month, a LATE FEE of $15.00 shall automatically be due. The student will not be able to continue dancing after the second week of a new month if their payment is not received in the timely fashion. If the monthly tuition hasn’t been paid; the student will not be able to attend the following month until the monthly tuition and All late fees are paid for. Please read the posted reminder on the front studio door each month.
6. METHOD OF PAYMENTS: For the monthly tuition, a Cash payment is preferred.
Please always enclose the cash in an envelope with the exact change. A Check is acceptable, there is no need to place it an envelope. You may make a check payable to: Ev-leen‘s.
For a bounced check of any kind, you will be fined $20.00, and late fees (item #5)will be added until it is cleared. If your payment isn‘t received at all, you will bereported to a collection agency and the police department will also be involved.
POST DATED CHECKS are unacceptable. For Check payments, please indicate in the memo section; Student’s and Class Name, and the Class Time, and Day.
For Cash payments, on your envelope indicate; Student’s and Class name, the Class Time and Day, the Current Date and Amount of Payment. It is more convenient if ALL payments were dropped in our mail slot located outside by the front door. We would appreciate it if you didn’t hand out any payments to our teachers or to Ms. Eve-lyne.
A Cash Payment will be Mandatory for: all Annual Dance Recital Costumes, Tickets, and Sitting fees for our Photo Shoot.
If dropping prior to the recital and a costume was ordered, you will need to make arrangements to pick it up prior to May 1st. Costumes remaining after May 1st will no longer be the responsibility of Ev-leen’s Dance studio, and will be donated to our community schools.
7. RECEIPT REQUESTED for a cash payment of any kind must be indicated on your envelope. We will be sure to deliver it to you the following class, if you do not receive it then, please enquire about it to Ms. Eve-lyne.
8. REFUNDS on items such as; the Set Up Fees received on registration day, i.e. the Annual Liability, Security Deposit Fees, and the Monthly Tuition, including the;
Recital Tickets/Costume Fees, and Photo Shoot Sitting Fee, shall not be reimbursed once a payment has been made.
If no payment with the late fees, including the bounced check and it’s additional fee of $20.00 are received at all during the month taken, the student(s) will not be able to continue attending classes until the debt is cleared.
9. SECURITY DEPOSIT: The student is entitled to take the last two classes in themonth he/she is quitting, providing we receive a payment for the last month with a written drop notice, on time.
Example:
If a written, not a verbal notice and tuition are delivered to us on the last class or day of the month of May - thus making June the student’s last month, the first two classes in July can be taken without any payment.
Please note, we are on going, even in July and August as these are our Summer Months.
Follow the above policy if you wish to prorate your monthly payment as you may only during our Summer Season. Students who drop for the summer without a written drop notice and plan to return in the near future will not be entitled to use their Security Deposit, they will be required to pay it again upon returning to our studio.
*Security Deposit and class credit is NON-TRANSFERABLE.*
10. CLASS MAKE-UPS: The student or parent must call Ms. Eve-lyne a few days prior to taking a make-up class. Please check the front door schedule first to find a similar class with the appropriate age level.
11. HOLIDAYS: We will not be holding any classes one week prior to the Christmas holiday nor one week after. And also, one week before Easter day. Please follow the public school system calendar as we do. Full monthly tuition shall still be required during that time since we do not charge for three months that carry’s a fifth week, this is from September through June.
12. COURTESY TO CLASS IN SESSION: When a student is late, he/she will miss out on the importance of warming up the body, mostly to prevent injuries and prepare the mind and the body for movement activities as are done in the first portion of the class. If the student is 7 minutes late he/she will not be able to participate. After arriving all students must remove street shoes before entering the back door to the dance room as it is a tradition to wear only dance shoes in a dance room. Hip-Hop and Cheer students are required to bring with them clean dancing tennis shoes.
May we suggest to please clean the soles with soap and water and bring them in a bag.
* Lastly, at this time we would like to discourage you from leaving our studio in the middle of our recital preparations. We ask you to please think about your actions as this will be disrespectful to everyone involved.
See Recital Page for more information and details
In October, Costume Fees will be due as we will be ordering them in December.
Costumes can sometimes take 4-5 months to arrive from the catalog companies. As to our photo shoot, it can be held in May or June, therefore we need time for costume sewing adjustments as well. As to our costume fees, they will vary depending on the prices from the costume company. There will be a posted reminder on the front door of the studio with the proper costume fee(s), or if you wish, inquire with Ms. Eve-lyne.
In March, you will be required to purchase, four Dance Recital
Tickets at $13 each., this is known in all studios as “a recital fee”. This will cover a small part of our auditorium rental and other recital costs.
By November, providing we have received the student’s FULL costume fee(s) previously in October, a measurement chart for the student will then be handed out. We will assist you or the student with the final costume measurement size. Meanwhile parents should keep an eye on their child(ren’s) growth spurts.
It is crucial that a student is fully committed to this recital since he/she becomes a member of the team and has a standing position in the line up for the dance routine.
We are asking for your understanding that we will NOT ACCEPT that any classes be missed in the months of MAY and JUNE. We are notifying you NOW that a student
WILL BE EXPELLED from performing in the recital if they miss ONE CLASS IN
JUNE, and also *ANY* REHEARSAL IN THE AUDITORIUM. An Agreement to the aforementioned will be handed out with the measurement chart.
14. RECITAL AGREEMENT: It is crucial that a parent or a student understand the importance of a yearly commitment with us. Throughout the year our students will learn a lot, including proper techniques, but eventually they’ll all be working on a presentational dance routine(s). Once our staff begins to choreograph and teach this routine, everyone must understand that we must have all of our students be in our classes each and every week as changes are being made to the routine every time we meet with our students. Beside that, the students are sometimes at a loss, should their class mates be missing class. For those students who have previously missed, when returning, they too are also lost and can be emotionally effected and over- whelmed as well while trying to play catch up. They are overloaded while learning last week’s steps and the current ones.
We ask you to please think about your actions as this will be disrespectful to everyone involved.
Please follow these policies:
1. Only ONE EXCUSED ABSENCE will be allowed in MAY, providing it is
important and absolutely necessary to miss class.
2. NO EXCUSED ABSENCES will be accepted in JUNE, there will NOT BE ANY
EXCEPTIONS.
3. THESE REHEARSALS ARE MANDATORY and may not be missed regardless of any circumstances. It will be understood and agreed by the person signing the ACKNOWLEDGEMENT FORM at the end of our meeting that the student involved in the dance recital will attend ALL recital rehearsals. If the below rehearsals are not attended, the student cannot participate in the Annual Dance Recital, regardless, as it is part of our written policies.
REHEARSALS TO BE ATTENDED:
a.) All June Studio Classes b.) Finale Rehearsal at studio c.) Dress Rehearsal at auditorium
(please note that no parents are allowed to attend the dress rehearsal except room mothers and parents who are working as staff for the recital. There will be no exceptions. Please know that your children will be well cared for and safe. We have strict sign-in and sign-out procedures and no one leaves the auditorium. Thanks in advance for your understanding of this policy. We do this to preserve the surprise element of the Recital.)Link to our web site: www.bakersfielddance.com
